As a stay-at-home/work-at-home mom I've been finding it increasingly difficult to take or make time to do things soley to make myself feel good without beating myself up about it. I know that it's in the best interest of my children to have a mother who is relaxed and content, but there are always mouths to be fed, diapers to be changed, words to be sounded out, new tricks to be applauded, laundry to be done, dishes (and more dishes and more dishes) to be washed - nevermind dried and put away. And let's talk about the multiplying piles of books and toys - how does that happen?
Back to the subject at hand. I need to make myself a priority again - more specifically my creative self. Making something pretty makes me FEEL GOOD. And I deserve - and NEED - to feel good. So here is my challenge: to BE CREATIVE at least twice a week. Whether it's sewn, painted, up-cycled, or crafted with my kids, I need to be post-ably creative two times every week this year.
This blog is my accountability. To me AND to my family. A happy mommy is the best gift I can give them this year. So there it is.
